Pec pod Sněžkou
The chalet stands in a quiet part of Pec pod Sněžkou, at the edge of the forest and a few minutes' walk from the centre. In winter, Pec is part of the largest ski area in the Czech Republic; in summer, it is the starting point for Sněžka and the Giant Valley.

Winter
Pec pod Sněžkou is part of SkiResort Černá hora – Pec, the largest ski area in the Czech Republic. One ski pass covers Pec and the neighbouring areas (Černá hora, Velká Úpa, Černý Důl, Svoboda nad Úpou), linked by ski buses. Pec itself has 14 km of pistes, the Hnědý vrch and Zahrádky Express chairlifts and nine drag lifts. On selected days there is night skiing on Javor from 6 to 9 pm, on the widest floodlit pistes in the country. For cross-country skiers, the groomed Krkonoše Ridge Trail is within reach.
Summer
A cable car runs from Pec over Růžová hora to the summit of Sněžka, the highest mountain in the Czech Republic; 30% off with the Krkonoše Card. The Hnědý vrch lift runs all year, up to a lookout tower with views across the Krkonoše ridges. Footpaths lead into the Giant Valley and to the historic Kovárna mine, cycle routes through the surrounding valleys. Grund Resort golf course is about 15 minutes by car.

Getting here
By car via Trutnov and Svoboda nad Úpou, with snow chains in winter. Parking outside designated areas is not permitted in Pec pod Sněžkou; guests park directly at the chalet. Long-distance buses run to the centre of Pec; timetables are on IDOS.
